Now, if you want to send me presents I won’t stop you but it’s actually The Minxes' first birthday and there’s going to be giveaways all month! It’s also an excellent excuse to each chocolate cake every day. Just don’t tell your doctor, dietician, dentist, nutritionist or personal trainer...
Before You Hit Send (the self-editing course run by Angela James) is wrapping up now and I’m about to launch myself into my May workshop. Angela’s course is fantastic and I highly recommend it. It’s a rare opportunity to learn how to look at your work from an editor’s perspective—no more wondering where you went wrong, sobbing in a corner or eating your hair. It’s changed the way I look at my writing and how I edit and, hopefully, anyone who reads my work in the future will benefit from it too. If you’re interested, keep an eye out here for her next one.
As I mentioned before, I’m about to start my May workshop. This one is with Carol Hughes and is called What Does Nora Roberts Know That You Don’t? I’ve only ready the first handout but I’m excited about what’s to come. Do I want to make my reader cry like a baby? Yes. Yes, I do. And deep story is how you get there. Carol’s all about the HOW and the how is just what I need to know.
So, that’s my workshop for this month but there’s plenty more to choose from, including:
Instructors: Becky Martinez & Sue Viders
Layering—It’s Not Just for Cakes! How to start with a page of dialogue and build a scene, adding setting, emotion, action.
Instructor: Chris Redding
Instructor: Laurie Schnebly
Instructor: Mary O’Gara
So, what are your plans for May?

Good luck with the workshops. They all sound great!
And I want to read a book where the hero's name is Zeus, LOL!
Happy Birthday Minxes!! These look good, Lacey, thanks for passing along. Anything's got to be better than eating hair! :-)
Thanks for these links, Lacey. If I had time I'd sign up for all of them.

Thanks Aimee! I'm enjoying the workshops. They're a heck of a lot more helpful than my shelf full of craft books lol.
A book where the hero's name is Zeus would be something! The hardest part would be finding an appropriate job him. Zeus the almighty interior designer...? LOL!
LOL Jackie! You have such nice hair too. Dr Jax will have to keep an eye on you =)
After reading your post, I signed up for the "What Does Nora Roberts Know..." workshop, too. Thanks for flagging it! See you there.
Happy Birthday to the Minxes!
All the workshops look good, Lacey! Thanks for the links.
Suz - If only we could add a few extra hours to the day =)
Marcy - You're welcome! I hope you find it as fascinating as I do =)
Nas - Thanks =) I hope you find them helpful.
