It's That Time of Year

 Alrighty! So I’m back.

I’ve pretended to start my Christmas shopping where the shop decorations are already in place. They’re pretty and sparkling and, let’s face it, a little unsettling. The idea of strolling around under giant presents and ornaments that are beautifully lit but have the potential to both squash and mildly electrocute you is something I try not to think about while I’m getting the groceries.

Here’s to hoping that the guys who ridged them up weren’t having a “blah-whatever-that’ll do” day?

Does anyone else have a certain book/s they read at this time of year? I have some favorite M&B that must come out this and last year I added The Millionaire’s Mistletoe Mistress by Natalie Anderson. It was such a fun read where Natalie’s heroine, Imogen gets to wrap all sorts of things for her gorgeous hero. I’m especially looking forward to reading that one again. If you’re interested, it’s been released in the US this year as ‘Tis the Season” also including stories by Carole Mortimer and Alison Roberts and will still be available at http://www.eharlequin.com/.

I know you’re all writing furiously and refusing to cook dinner for your families all in the name of NaNoWriMo. Congrats! Is anyone writing a Christmas themed book for NaNo? Is anyone entering their NaNo in the So You Think You Can Write challenge?

Go on! Take advantage of those overworked editors! ;)

P.S. Mills and Boon author has been interviewed Christina Hollis over at the Minxes and you can read it here.

You know, I don't have any Christmas books that I reread. That might be a prodct of living in a touristy area. All the holidays are done to death.

I'll have to look for that Anderson title.

I left a comment earlier but it seems to have been eaten up by my PC completely freezing!
Welcome back! How was your exams? Hopefully all went well. Now christmas...I saw christmas tree coming out of small boxes and turned out to be this this huge tree at Auckland airport. But the workers were very careful, sed ladders and all.

Hi Lacey!
I'm not writing furiously, although I should be, and yet I'm still refusing to cook dinner for my family!!!

I've commented twice already, but the comments are not showing up. Any idea why?

Jackie - I think that Frenchman is having bad influence on you ;)

Julia - I have to admit I try to ignore the commercialisation of Christmas as much as possible.

Nas - I'm afraid the lack of appearing comments is my fault. My computers is on the blink for the third time in as many months in our love/hate relationship so I haven't been able to get on the internet :) Although sometimes blogger plays up as well.

The exams went well thanks so much for asking.

Wow that Christmas tree sounds incredible. I wouldn't want to be the one assembling it though.

Wendy: You're a published writer now, I'm pretty sure that means you just lie on a couch all day and someone feeds you grapes... ;)

Hiya, Lacey.

Sounds like you've been super busy! I don't do NaNo, my internal editor is too rigid and won't let me write anything I might have to later delete.

Sorry, I don't usually re-read books I've already read. My TBR pile is so big I have a job getting through that, much less find time to go back. Blame it on the many wonderful books by favourite authors and fab new authors to choose from.:)

Hugs

Yep i'm entering Cooper and Billie in the challenge. I've worked on the 1st chapter so it's a bit different than when i entered it in the NV comp....
I haven't got anything else yet, i don't write as fast as others :S

Okay, Lacey! That's quite a sense of humor you have!

Monique - I probably shouldn't reread books either. I think my TBR pile now spans bookcases now, it's an illness this book buying thing ;)

Lacey Devlin said...

Kerrin - You've just finished Cooper and Billie haven't you? Now think of all those writers who entered NV and haven't done anything to their fabulous first chapters. Haha! You win ;)

I'm wishing you lots of luck!

Wendy - No grapes? I'm devastated... ;)
